Honduras

Over the years, our physicians have taken care of thousands of local villagers. We have had a range of physicians and specialist, from urologist and gynecologist, to optamologist and even plastic surgeons! Medical students as well have been a vital part of our operations.

Our medical clinic now has:

5 fully equipped examination rooms
Front desk and reception area
1 specialized examination room for minor surgical procedures
Fully stocked pharmacy with every medication to care for basic needs

On-Site Clinic
During our clinic fair, villagers are alerted ahead of time that our team will be coming to the clinic. Ticketed numbers are handed out and patients are asked to come at a certain time where they are seen and treated by one of our many physicians.
Once registered at the reception area, the patient’s vital signs are taken and are referred to the appropriate doctor based on their symptoms.  We have translators with every physician if needed as well.

Off-Site Clinic
We are in the clinic for half of the week and the remainder of the trip is spent traveling to rural areas to see villagers that are too far away to travel. Appropriate authorities are notified ahead of time and we bring all the medication and equipment with us to set up clinics in the middle of the rural villages.

Dental Clinic

We have come a long way from using the chapel as a dental clinic!  We now have a state of the art dental clinic in a separate wing from the medical clinic complete with the following:

  • 5 fully equipped dental chairs
  • X-ray machine and sterilization equipment
  • Separate front desk and reception room
  • Waiting area
  • Fully stocked dental lab

Our team of dentists provides services to the local villagers and focus on preventative dentistry for the children.  The majority of the villagers have never seen a dentist and through simple procedures, lifelong ailments are healed.  As for the children, our team works to educate them at a young age about the importance of dental hygiene.

We would like to thank the University of Pennsylvania Dental School students who recently came to Honduras and shared their lives and education with the Villagers.
